When I first put this site up, I encouraged people to contact me about Aid Kim. Well, I'm withdrawing that encouragement because the only e-mails I've gotten about this are the ones from people who have set up their own begging sites asking me to link to them. One e-mail I got from a so-called begging site automatically redirected to a commercial site that was selling wedding products. (Talk about your bait-and-switch scheme!) I even got an e-mail from someone asking me for advice on whether she should set up her own begging site.
I have unfortunate news for the webmaster of other begging sites: THIS SITE IS A PARODY!!! I am really NOT in financial dire straits. Sure, I have to be conservative with my money but I'm really not on the verge of bankruptcy. I only created this site as a parody of Save Karyn and all the other begging sites that are out there. You can read all about the disclaimer concerning Aid Kim and the rest of the Twisted Unicorn site.
Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't turn down free money from strangers. But I'm also not on the verge of homelessness either. Yet it has been a struggle for me to try to make some money off of Twisted Unicorn. If I had a steady income coming in from this, I would devote myself to this site full-time and I would have new animations and other entertaining content coming up on a regular basis. But, unfortunately, this is not the case.
I've gotten so many e-mails from other people with begging sites that I am now tired of it. From now on I will no longer add new links to other begging sites. To be honest, there are so many such begging sites out there that there is an extremely slim chance of anyone making any money off of one. Granted, Karyn did receive plenty of money and attention but that's because she was the first person who did a begging site that received widespread media attention from around the world and it's usually the first person who does something that's new and novel on the Internet that gets the lion's share of the attention. Let's face it, how many of you out there can name a webcam site other than JenniCam, the well-publicized site that started a whole bunch of other webcam sites? Or dancing cartoon pages other than the Hampster Dance?
While I will continue to strongly encourage you to be generous with your money, I would like to encourage you to spend more time investigating the rest of the Twisted Unicorn site. Hopefully you'll like the rest of my site enough to consider giving me money as an encouragement for me to keep up with my creative work.
